Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, our two United States Senators from Connecticut, are participating in this upcoming campaign to “Wear Orange” on June 2nd, 2015 for the inaugural “National Gun Violence Awareness Day”.
Wear Orange is a new campaign that amplifies existing efforts to reduce gun violence in America and helps honor the 88 Americans whose lives are cut short by gun violence every day.
Anyone can join the Wear Orange campaign by visiting wearorange.org and using the website’s pledge tool to change their social media profile picture or share why they’ll be #WearingOrange on June 2, the first-ever National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America Celebration coming through Milford, Connecticut!
The Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America is a historic event with three simultaneous torch runs, held from East Coast to West Coast, to kickoff the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, California.
Please join in Milford’s celebration of the Unified Relay as the torch passes through Milford! Saturday, May 30 Milford Green Gazebo 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The event will feature a celebration of all Milford’s Special Olympics programs including school-based Unified Sports and adult programs.
Join us for an awards ceremony, face painting, field games, and to cheer on the Milford relay team as they carry the torch through Milford!
With 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing 177 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and over 500,000 spectators, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games (July 25-August 2) will be the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.
ESPN will broadcast the Opening Ceremonies live on July 25!

A recent update from the Milford, Connecticut City Hall Facebook page has provided the public with information concerning the upcoming Memorial Day Parade to be held on May 24th, 2015.
The City of Milford will host its annual Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at 2:00pm. Units and marchers are asked to assemble at the “Daniel Wasson Field” parking lot at 1:00pm.
The Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held in front of the Milford City Hall at 9:45am same day (May 24th). It is a short ceremony but highly moving.
