Governor Dan Malloy, following his successful bid for re-election last November, was recently featured in Time Magazine where he was interviewed and candidly expressed his views on his counterparts, Democratic ideals and upcoming elections.
Governor Malloy definitely did not hold back any punches and urged fellow Democrats running for State office across the country to stop running on “Republican-lite” platforms, reiterating his statement during a speech at the Association of State Democratic Chairs this past month.
“Malloy is rising to the occasion, positioning himself as one of the party’s top attack dogs as the 2016 cycle approaches” says Time Magazine. Malloy was recently selected as the Chairman of the Democratic Governor’s Association in 2016. In the interview Malloy made it clear he will be focusing on helping out fellow Democratic candidates get elected to their respective Governorships.
“There are not a lot of Democratic governors, and we need to go our and fight the fight” he said,”We need to take some of those states back and lay the groundwork for taking others back four years from now”.
The Governor also shared some thoughts on upcoming Congressional races, saying “We’ve got to begin the process of changing the Congress….each election we need to pick up seats and we need to be on the offensive”.

First I want to thank everyone who participated and volunteered during campaign season this year. Results from this year didn’t go in our favor completely on a local level but we held firm State wide and were able to re-elect real good people to represent us in Hartford and Washington D.C. Our State Senator Gayle Slossberg and State Representative Kim Rose I know will represent Milford dutifully. It is unfortunate that our State Reps James Maroney and Paul Davis won’t be joining the legislature next year but I know they will remain close to their communities and continue to work on behalf of their neighbors, with a legislative title or not.
