Claire Phelan – An Amazing Individual Remembered

ClairePhelanIt is with the utmost sadness that I post this evening about the passing a great Democratic Party leader and friend, Claire Plehan, who passed away today on Saturday August 23rd. Claire was an instrumental part of not only the 4th District of the Milford Democratic Town Committee but the entire Milford Democratic Party. A great friend and mentor to many within Milford, she will be an irreplaceable advocate for causes in Milford and across the State.

Milford DTC Vice-Chairman Charlie Montalbano released this statement which he has sent via email to members of the Milford Democratic Town Committee. I will publish his words below;

My Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that I bring you the news of the passing of Claire Phelan. Claire was an extraordinary human being. Rich Smith often called her the conscience of the Democratic party, He is right. Claire fought for the causes she was passionate about until the very last. While she struggled with hearing loss, she made sure that everyone’s voice was heard. She made all feel worthwhile. We are fortunate to have had her with us for so long. She will be missed, but her impact will be felt for many years to come.

Claire’s was a life well lived.

I will pass along arrangement information when it is available.

Claire will be deeply missed by everyone and I hope that during this time we remember all the good she has done to so many people and all the work she has done for her friends and community. When information comes in for services I will be updating the Milford Democrat’s website to include it for readers.
