On Wednesday, October 23, at the Jonathan Law High School auditorium, the Milford PTA Council invites all Milford residents to a Board of Education Candidates’ Forum.
The event will run from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be moderated by local radio celebrity Brian Smith. The 20 endorsed candidates for the Board of Education will answer randomly selected questions and share their views on the future of the Milford school system.
The school board members who are elected this Nov. 5 will have the responsibility of administering an approximate $89 million operating budget for the Milford Public Schools. They also will consider several top-priority educational issues currently affecting Milford, such as the Long Range Planning Study, the Special Education Review, and the Common Core State Standards, among many others, PTA officials pointed out.
“The BOE Candidate’s Forum will give the public an opportunity to learn what the candidates believe about these and other important educational issues affecting Milford,” the PTA said in a prepared press release.
