On this crisp November day, we bid a truly fond farewell to our former Governor, our esteemed colleague and, above all, our friend: the Honorable William O’Neill. His years of work on behalf of the citizens of our State – as State Representative, State Party Chairman, Lieutenant Governor and then Governor – epitomize his infallible willingness to give of himself in service to others.
We will always remember with great admiration his heartfelt empathy for the struggles of our State’s citizens and his passion for lifting our everyday burdens; even as he rose to the highest political office of our State, he remained focused on this calling. |
Though he did not aspire to greatness, he nonetheless achieved it, and he changed all our lives for the better. We thank you, Governor O’Neill. We will miss you.
