Add new commentCampaign Finance
The campaign names are as follows: Paul Davis (117th House) - "Friends of Paul Davis" Background: Public financing is now the law for Connecticut General Assembly races. Once candidates reach a threshold, they will be eligible for public financing of their campaign. No more contractors, no more lobbyists contributing to political campaigns. State House candidates must reach a threshold of 150 signatures with a donation of $5 to $100, totaling $5,000. State Senate candidates must reach a threshold of 300 signatures with a donation of $5 to $100, totaling $15,000. The contributors can be any legal resident, including minors (although minors are limited to $30). If you know someone who lives anywhere in Orange, West Haven, or Milford, they can sign a petition for Paul Davis (117th House incumbent) and Gayle Slossberg (14th Senate incumbent). The Milford only candidates are Barbara Lambert (118th House candidate) and Richard Roy (119th House incumbent). Persons from outside these towns can also donate, but the donation will only go toward the dollar amount, but not the signature count. This would be greatly appreciated by the candidates, as it precludes getting higher dollar amounts from city residents. I will be calling you in the next few days to urge you to move on this. Let's get this done ASAP. Michael V.
