The Milford Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Jim Amann (D) for Governor. This is the first time ever that the Milford Chamber has endorsed any political candidate, and indicates the high level of respect Jim has from the business community. Speaker of the House James Amann announced that he will not run for re-election as Representative of the 118th District and will concentrate his political efforts on running for Governor. He has endorsed Barbara Lambert (D), currently serving as Alderman in the district. Ms. Lambert was also present at the Chamber endorsement.

After glowing remarks from Kathy Alagno, President of the Milford Chamber, Speaker Amann explained that he has received endorsements of both business groups and major trade unions in Connecticut. This blend of business and rank & file support reflects his thoughtful approach to legislative issues.

The Milford Chamber of Commerce has over 800 members and is the largest single city Chamber in Connecticut.
