Neighborhoods. The 5th district in Milford is a collection of neighborhoods that includes Bayview and Gulf beaches, the historic district, Point Lookout, neighborhoods north of the Post Road, even a piece of the center of town. The 5th district is a quilt of neighborhoods.

The people of our neighborhoods encompass a wide spectrum of economic status. Whatever the dwelling – mansion or bungalow, condo or apartment – the residents of the 5th District share a love of Milford, and a desire to see it continue to improve.

Members of the 5th district Democratic Committee represent these neighborhoods. We are teachers, lawyers, secretaries, designers, salespeople, managers, entrepreneurs, waiters, construction workers, homeowners, and parents – a cross-section of Milford, and America. Many of our members serve on municipal boards and commissions. They volunteer for a wide variety of causes, both political and civic, and we are proof that dedicated people get things done.

Our near-term goal in the 5th District is to unite behind our mayoral, aldermanic, education and Planning & Zoning Board candidates, who will carry the Democratic banner. We will work as a team to get our candidates elected to public office, where they will bring balance, fairness, and leadership to our city.

We will work to identify and articulate the issues in our district. Longer term, we are working to identify, contact and motivate Democratic and unaffiliated voters. And, if we can convince some Republicans to see the light and switch sides, all the better.
